Makhani Curry Indian recipe food pictures, photos & images.

Makhani is a classic Indian Cuisine dish from the Punjab invented by Kundan Lal Gujral, founder of the restaurant chain Moti Mahal Delux in the 1920s.

Butter chicken or Murgh Makhani uses chicken cooked with spices and chilli in a Tandorri oven or Tandoori chicken Tikka. For the sauce onion and garlic are fried to which are added fenugreek leaves, fresh minced ginger, cinnamon, asafoetida, cumin, cloves, black pepper, roasted tomatoes and butter. This is sometimes thickened with cashew paste to create a thick coating sauce for the Tandoori chicken.

The Makhani sauce is also perfect with king prawns.
